I am an electrical engineer specialized in control systems and machine learning, who further delved into the realm of neuroscience, focusing on neural information processing for my Ph.D. My academic journey included multiple postdocs at the Department of Psychiatry and Max Planck for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen, culminating in a tenure-track assisstant professor position at the University of Marburg, focusing on computational psychiatry and data science. 

My current research is centered around the physics and engineering of behavioral, neural, and psychological dynamics in humans, with applications to understanding the psychiatric disorders. In this context, my research follows four major directions: First, we refine existing machine learning technologies to massively improve the ability to infer mathematical models of complex systems from empirical data. Second, we develop a deeper mechanistic understanding of control strategies that facilitate the management of complex systems arising from human brain and behavior. Third, I systematically apply the technologies developed in my research to inform neuropsychiatric decision making and intervention policies. Fourth, I have been recently expanding my research and plan to further do so in studying memory processes involved in shaping spontaneous thoughts. This entails conceptualizing and modeling both conscious and unconscious thoughts as dynamic systems and computationally formalizing the theory to simulate complex dynamic phenomena over time.
